This is a Vintage 1930's Kalamazoo Acoustic Guitar. It is sold as is. There are no structural problems with this instrument whatsoever (not a single crack in the wood, only slightly in the finish). I did my best to display all the bumps and bruises in the pictures. If you would like a photo of a specific area of the guitar to show better detail, please email me and I will send it to you.
I am not completely sure what model this guitar is. Inside the soundhole, where the label would be, there is a faint mark of "BG17", but to the best of my knowledge it is not related to any sort of model/serial number. It also has "24A" stamped on the base of the neck inside the sound hole (where the truss rod adjustment would be). It has the triangular shaped headstock, a regular small dreadnought guitar shape, and the white binding only on the top of the guitar. If you have any information confirming a model number, please send me a message.
This guitar has 14 frets to the body, and 19 total. The neck is in excellent condition. It is a thick V shape but still very comfortable. It holds tune very well (I took it out of it's case for the first time in a few months, and barely needed to touch up the high E string).
This guitar is very light, but projects sound just as well as my Martin full size dreadnought. It has that twangy blues feel from the moment you pick it up. It is a smaller body, so it doesn't have that super long sustain, but it still sounds out loud and clear.
To the best of my knowledge, this guitar is totally original, along with the press board case. It has the broken bridge pin for the high E string, but I decided not to change out any of the original parts. The pin does still exist and function properly in the guitar, but you have to reach into the sound hole to push the pin out when changing strings.
The tuners on this guitar are the 3 on a metal plate per side that are very popular on this generation of Kalamazoo/Gibson guitar. They are a bit sticky, but again, I did not want to replace or treat this problem as I do not have any sort of vintage guitar restoration experience. They still function fine, you just have to crank some of them a bit to get them to turn.
The action on this guitar is a bit on the high side, but I would imagine that's how it was intended for the blues and slide licks. It still plays well, and is great for fingerstyle as well.
As it was stated before, this guitar is sold as is. I will not accept a return because you thought the action was too high or something along those lines. Please, if you have any questions about this guitar E-mail me BEFORE you bid so I can answer your question. Serious bidders only.
