Gibson Advanced Jumbo. Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Adirondack spruce top. Spectacular dark tobacco burst. Rosewood back has slightest hint of sapwood in center. Built in Gibson's Montana Custom Shop in October, 2001. Own one of the last available Brazilian rosewood AJ's made. 25.5" scale length. Brazilian rosewood bridge, ebony pins with abalone dots. Brazilian rosewood fretboard with diamond style MOP inlays. Waverly chrome tuners with ebony buttons. MOP Gibson and diamond style inlay on headstock, along with matching inlay on fingerboard. Greven dark tortis beveled pickguard. Gibson Custom Shop decal inside soundhole. Amulet 3 pickup with dual transducers and interface box (guitar sounds great unplugged, but comes alive with the Amulet dialed in). Custom Shop custom case with wine interior. While this guitar is not new, it has been taken great care of. Slight swirl in the back, 2 small dings, approximately 2-3mm each in lower bout, not even through finish; microscopic blemish just below lower edge of pickguard (pick wear or finish haze), all too small to photograph.
The most important thing about this guitar is the tone. Great separation for a steel string, with that unmatched sound of the Brazilian/Adirondack combination. Very loud, as AJ's are designed to be, but sweet sounding as a fingerstyle instrument. Outstanding playability with a perfectly straight neck, virtually no fret wear; action is 3/32" @ 12th fret. Case has a couple of small marks on it, but completely sound otherwise. Anyone wanting a fantastic sounding acoustic with some of the best wood available will be thrilled.
