Gibson Acoustic

  This auction is for a beautiful vintage 1967 Epiphone Caballero Acoustic guitar.  
This guitar was made in the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo Michigan.  
  These guitars have a small comfortable neck and a nice mid-heavy and throaty tone that sits well in the mix and cuts through live.  In an acoustic ensemble, it's a perfect compliment to a dreadnaught or jumbo.   This guitar is totally stock and operates as it should.  It's been set up and will play right out of the case. There are no cracks anywhere on the guitar.  There are some grain colorings in some of the photos that look like a cracks but they are only streaks of color in the grain of the wood.  There are some nicks and scraps here and there, mostly on the bottom/backside.  There is no structural damage to the guitar whatsoever.  The bridge looks like there are small gaps on the ends between the bridge and the body but it's so mild that I never gave it a bother.  Most of the bridges on these and the LG's are on their way towards needing replacement but this one is a nice example and works perfect. 
  I had this guitar set up to use on promo and radio tours.  I had a pickup put in it which required drilling the end pin out of the bottom in order to install a 1/4" plug for my LR Baggs p/u I was using at the time.  I took the original strap pin from the bottom and install it on the heel of the neck so I could use a strap like a conventional guitar.  This worked great and the guitar performed flawlessly.  I took the p/u out as well as the 1/4" pin on the bottom leaving the hole as seen in the pictures.  The winning bidder can either have a pin put in or have a jack put in like the one I had in there.  The frets are original and in my opinion have plenty of playable life left in them.  Tuners are original and work fine.
