1947-1949 Gibson LG2, with the typical tapered headstock and small rectangular bridge.
When they are good, LG2s do count among Gibson's very best flat tops ... ask John Hiatt.
The tone of this particular one is among the best of the LG2 I played, and I have played many, with the tone variation you can expect from vintage acoustic guitars in general, and with Gibson in particular.

Truly gorgeous sunburst, violin like, like only Gibson knew how to make.
Some repaired
cracks on the top right hand side, the long one is filled with what
looks like epoxy, so it's super stable; no cracks on the back and
sides.
Slight bellying below the saddle.
Plenty of weather checking on the finish, some heavier wear on the top right upper bout.
Looks like one piece mahogany back.
Low, super comfortable action (no neck reset needed), super straight neck, frets with plenty of life left.
The guitar comes with a hard shell vintage case, which looks original, and is truly a rare find as most LG2 come in chipboard cases.
This is a rare, collectible, fantastic looking and sounding Gibby. As
corny as it may sound, I am parting reluctantly with it.
Having
owned and played it for almost 10 years, it feels part of the family; but having succumbed to expensive boutique instruments, funds need to be realized and the herd to be thinned ...
