This auction features a Gibson Gospel acoustic guitar made in Bozeman, Montana USA. I believe it is a 1995 since the serial number is 91285XXX. Interestingly, it has an orange oval label like they used in the 1950s and the old Gibson script like they used in the 1940s and on special instruments like the mandolins and banjos. This script, however, is a gold decal, not pearl inlay. The back and sides are mahogany and there is a repaired crack in the back which is arched and has no bracing. This is typical for the Gospel but many were made of maple. The spruce top has nice close grain with some cross-grain and an interesting swirl in the area of the fingerboard visible in picture # 2. It sounds very good, due in part to the scalloped bracing and ebony bridge. It will ship in what appears to be an original Gibson case without a name stamped on it. It is the tan colour with pink lining like they used in the 1950s. Thanks for looking and God bless and Happy and prosperous New Year to you.
