This is a vintage 1946 Gibson LG-2 with chipboard case (not sure if case is original).
Here is a nice and solid Gibson LG-2 guitar with banner headstock. The guitar is x-braced. There are a few things that need attention but my luthier is backed-up currently, so I leave those items up to the buyer. I see two loose back braces that need to be re-glued. This bracing is in place but has risen slightly in the middle. There is also a missing thin wood strip in between two of the back braces. The top bracing looks good with one small brace that could also use some glue. There is moderate wear in the first 4 frets. The action of the 12th fret is 5/32" with a tall saddle. There are dings and playing wear throughout. I see 2 unrepaired back cracks and amazingly none in the top. Someone lightly carved their initials on the side. These are mostly contained to the finish. There is a ripple in the back bass side lower bout. The pickguard is lifting slightly near the sound hole and needs glue. The high E tuning peg appears to be a replacement. Guitar sounds great. I will leave the strings loose now. My 2012 Vintage Guitar Price Guide says $2800 to $3400.
