Up for auction is a 1963 Gibson Dove. I purchased this guitar from the widow of the original owner. This is the earliest Dove I've ever owned, and I can tell you that I finally understand what all the rage is about concerning these guitars. The tone is amazing (both warm and punchy). Those two words don't usually go together when describing an acoustic, but in the case of this guitar they do. Most Maple backed guitars tend to be bright with little bottom end, but this one is well balanced from the lows through the mids and into the highs. An original guitar including the tune-o-matic bridge, but a strap button is added at the heel. This guitar is in excellent condition for its age with no cracks or repairs. I've included many pictures below to show the condition, but if you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. There is some minor rutting in the finger board and there are some dents in some of the frets, but playability is still fantastic. Please look closely at the pictures below to determine for yourself the condition of the board and frets. The frets could easily be dressed to remove the minor dents, but I'll let the next owner take care of that. The neck is true and the truss rod functions properly. Included is an era correct hardshell case that is a little rough around the edges.Regarding shipping costs-  I charge only the actual shipping cost. I do not charge for the custom box, the packing materials or my time. I enter the weight and dimensions into the eBay shipping calculator and a total is generated. I have noticed that the west coast in particular has seen a pretty dramatic price increase with UPS ground. I am willing to offer USPS parcel post as an alternative to anyone willing to wait a little longer to receive their shipment. The cost is generally considerably cheaper than UPS ground, but accurate tracking is not available.

Please ask questions as early as possible in the auction. I travel an incredible amount and am not always able to access a computer. Questions that come late in the auction may not always be answerable. If you need to know something about one of my items prior to bidding, then make sure you give me enough time to answer the question. If you are the winning bidder on an item, then it is assumed that you had the required info to place the winning bid. If you have zero or a significant amount of negative feedback, and do not contact me prior to bidding, I will cancel your bid. I expect payment in full with in 4 days of the end of auction. Shipments with in the lower 48 States will be with UPS ground.  I do my very best to ship on the same day that I receive a confirmed payment.
