Description: Vintage Gibson L-50 archtop acoustic guitar in sunburst
finish. The top of the headstock has been painted over in black so the original
Gibson headstock logo is covered & there is now an Indian chief
decal where the logo would normally be. We could not locate a serial number or FON on or inside the guitar, so it 's a bit
difficult to specifically date the guitar, but based on looks & specs, it appears to be from
the late 1940's / early 1950's.  R53018 is hand-written in red pencil inside the bass-side F-hole, but we cannot rely on that information to accurately date the guitar. 

Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings. some surface scratches & light play wear.

Neck:
Very chunky mahogany neck with nicely aged, cream-colored binding.
Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays.
Original frets are in good shape with very little wear. Open-back
nickel tuners in perfect working condition. The original buttons have been
replaced with newer ones. 1 11/16" nut width.

Body: Spruce top
with maple back & sides. Bound, arched top & back.
Nickel trapeze tailpiece; floating rosewood bridge; bound
tortoise-style pickguard (small chip out of the guard).

Set Up:  Professionally set up by our guitar tech & strung with brand new Martin light gauge strings.

Playability / Sound: Nice action; smooth playing neck - very comfortable. Bright tone with lots of punch.

Case: Vintage chipboard case included.
