1992 Gibson J-60

Here is a 20 year old Gibson dreadnought that looks new.  The only
marks at all are some minor crazing in the nitro finish, not the wood,
in a few specific areas: the sides of the bridge and one area on the
lower bout on the front. They can only been seen on close inspection
angled in the light. The serial number confirms this one was
made in 1992.
This guitar was Gibson's answer to Martin's HD-28. It was made in
limited quantities and in various configurations for roughly 5-6 years
and is now sadly discontinued. This guitar was made in the first
production year. It features all solid wood, a Sitka spruce top,
scalloped braces in Gibson's Advanced Bracing Pattern, rosewood
back and sides, mahogany neck, ebony fret board with no fret markers, an
ebony
bridge, bone saddle and nut, a pre-war style logo, and Grover tuners. It
comes with the original hard shell case that is one of Gibson's best cases,
featuring 4 latches plus a lock, leather padded handle and 'felt' piece that protects
the top of the guitar while inside the case.

Modifications
The guitar has no modifications. Everything is original, working
properly and in great shape.

Condition
This guitar is structurally sound with no cracks, loose braces or other
issues, and looks new with the exception of the previously noted small
area of finish crazing. The neck is straight, the frets have no wear,
and the action is low with a lot of saddle for altering the action in
the future. This is one of the easier guitars to play that you'll fine.
A combination of the neck profile (just the slightest V, but overall
closer to a full C profile), 1.725 nut width, larger Gibson frets, low action
and perfect intonation make it easy and a pleasure to play and hear. It
is a very versatile guitar. It is loud, resonant and articulate, which
is great for playing with a band, but also great for light
finger picking on the couch. It has great sustain and true ringing
sounds all the way up the fretboard.

I feel this guitar, along with it's sibling the J-30 which I also own,
are two of the most underrated guitars out there. This J-60 has a
high-end sound, is very well made, it can play any style, and it looks
great - I love the smaller vintage pickguards that Gibson uses on these.
Plus, this guitar will cost you much less than a comparable model from
Martin, Collings, Santa Cruz, etc, while offering similar quality.

Sorry for the reflection on some of the photos of the rosewood body.

Please ask any questions. I offer a 3 day trail period. The buyer can
return it by paying for return shipping, and if the guitar is in the
same shape as when I sent it, I'll give a complete refund. I feel that if you
are looking for an upper end Gibson or a D-28 style dreadnought, you will be happy with this one.

Please read the rules and shipping info at
the bottom of the photos.
