Gibson Nick Lucas Special-inspired guitar hand built by luthier Victor Smith of Denmark (see www.flatbush.dk, Model JLO for more pictures of this instrument). Smith is famous for his hand built Flatbush mandolins, which are used by Dan Tyminski of Alison Krauss & Union Station, Emmylou Harris, Alan Bibey and numerous other professionals. This instrument features Master Grade European Spruce top, AAA Grade European Curly maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard, bridge and pins (abalone dots), 13-fret mahogany neck, 1-3/4" nut width, Grover Vintage nickel open tuners and abalone/mother of pearl fret markers/fleur-de-lis headstock inlay. Grained ivoroid bound headstock, fretboard, and body. Front, back and sides have hand-rubbed 1930s vintage tobacco sunburst finish using Italian lacquers with nitrocellulose protective coat. Tortoiseshell finish pickguard. Guitar is lightly braced and has the clarity of an OM with the volume of a dreadnought. An absolutely stunning,  completely hand-built instrument that leaves Gibson factory reissues in the dust. Complete with Martin Geib hard case and original papers signed by Victor Smith. Cost new from Smith is $5000. Mint collector condition with no signs of playwear whatsoever. Quality and appointments are similar to Flatbush Mandolin Model F5, which is top of the range.
